Important Spring Sale 657

Bukowskis presents the catalogue for the Important Spring Sale

Bukowskis is pleased to present the Important Spring Sale, the spring seasons largest live auction with an outstanding line-up of works by Swedish and international masters from all time periods and genres. Highlights include paintings by Anders Zorn, John Bauer and Francis Newton Souza, a chandelier by Carl Edberg and a collection of jewellery and silver objects from W.A. Bolin.

Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors and Carl Larsson are represented with several works. Two of the top lots are Zorn's painting "Från Sandhamn" executed in 1906, where you can clearly see his masterful ability to depict water in motion, and Carl Larsson's work "Målargården" from 1915. Within the Swedish classical section we also see John Bauer's painting "Han vilade icke ett ögonblick förrän han i skymningen nådde fram", an illustration for the tale “Vingas krans”, in the sixth volume of “Bland tomtar och troll” from 1912, and several important works by Carl Fredrik Hill, Gustaf Fjaestad and Ivan Aguéli. Modern Swedish art includes a collection of works by Lotte Laserstein and the sculptures "Dansande Menad" and "Lek med fiskar" by Carl Milles as well as a significant collection of 82 works by Axel Petersson Döderhultarn.
