Three exquisite objects at Important Winter Sale

The specialists choice with Anna Wehtje

At Important Winter Sale we are pleased to present an exquisite department for silver at this fall’s exceptional viewing at Bukowskis Berzelii Park 1 in Stockholm. Our knowledgeable specialist Anna Wehtje has chosen three favourites from the auction, which will be sold on 6 of December.

No 167:
Christian Henning was one of Sweden's most important silversmiths of the baroque period – this is shown in the impressive and unusually large silver dish marked in Stockholm 1706 – the motif is "Noah's sacrifice" which through it's rainbow reminds the spectator about the importance of taking good care of our world not causing another major catastrophe like Noah's flood.

No 185:
A coffee pot with an attitude – marked Peter Ohlijn Karlskrona - shows an attractively decorated spout and a smooth blackwood handle – strong rococo attributes that showed artistic skills in 1780 when coffee was a luxurious and fashionable drink.

No 198:
Strong French influences are to be found in the beautiful and rare pair of candlesticks with marks of Pehr Zethelius in Stockholm 1780 - the elegant flutings and leaf-scrolls will help to reflect the candlelight throughout the dark.
