Amsterdam, Huguetan, 1691. 4to. 23,5 x 18,5 cms. [14] + 740 pp. + engraved title + 24 engraved plates (5 folding). With numerous woodcut diagrams in text and printed music.
Somewhat soiled and worn full contemporary vellum, ms title to spine, bookplates (Hammer; Samuel Martin Nisser, with motto ”Sacrum Mihi Natura”) and old pencilled initials ”A:D:G 1742” (De Geer?). Title reinforced in inner margin, 2 small old repairs on verso of title, and loss of one letter, pp. 547-600 stained in lower margin, affecting image surface of a couple of plates, and lower margin of a few more, pages 625/6 with a hole in text, affecting a word on each side. Front free endpaper soiled.
