Parts 1 & 3 only, of three. Contemporary blindstamped pigskin incorporating i. a. Tudor roses & Scottish thistles, even on spine, and a border with animals. Somewhat worn, with catches, lacking clasps. Part of upper edge bitten and trifle fragile, marginal repairs, a few marginal wormholes, light foxing, some marginal dampstaining to a few leaves toward the end of part 3. Old or contemporary ownership isncription Henricus (?Ulmensis), recent library stamp to first and last page. With fine large initials in red, rubricated throughout, numerous contemporary marginal annotations & underlinings, pointing hands, and with old notes in a different hand.

Ferrerius was born 1357 in Valencia. At eighteen he entered the Dominican order and became one of the best preachers of this order. He was a wandering priest until he was appointed confessor to pope Benedict XIII in 1375 and Magister St. Palatii during the exile at Avignon.
