Virtually all of his known works (fewer than 20 known) are variants of the same composition. He appears to have been influenced by such artists as Willem Claesz. Heda (particularly by work from the 1650s) and Floris van Schooten, which indicates that he was probably active in Haarlem during the third quarter of the seventeenth century
