Bukowskis Fine Art and Quality Auctions
The Spring 2026 season at Bukowskis delivered strong results across contemporary and modern art, design, and exclusive collectible timepieces. The season was characterised by intense international bidding, high hammer prices, and several new record results, underlining the continued strong demand for quality objects on the Nordic auction market.
Contemporary Art & Design attracted significant international attention through the sale of Scandinavian Beauty II by Andy Warhol for SEK 16.8 million, alongside new world records for Ulla Wiggen and Britta Marakatt-Labba. The design department also recorded strong demand for both Swedish and international designers.
Modern Art & Design was marked by successful results in both art and design. The auction presented a carefully curated catalogue and demonstrated a continued strong market for both Swedish and international artists and designers. Highlights included SEK 13 million results for works by, among others, Einar Jolin, Nils von Dardel, and Fernand Léger, as well as a world record for a rediscovered writing desk by Carl Hörvik.
Important Timepieces presented its largest edition in a decade, featuring more than 160 watches from some of the world’s leading manufacturers, with sought-after references from Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Omega among the highlights of the auction.
In 2025, Bukowskis further strengthened its position in the Nordic region, with by far the most lots exceeding 1 million SEK and several new world records. The year was marked by a high-quality range of both live auctions and online quality auctions, with record prices achieved for works by, among others, Isaac Grünewald, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Anders Zorn, and Carl Milles.
