Second to fourth editions of the Pharmacopoea svecica. Three volumes in different half leather bindings. Ed. 1779 in a later binding with smooth spine, inscription of John Johnson, some darkening of initial and final leaves. Ed. 1784 in later half red morocco (Gust. Hedberg), insignificant wear, old stamp (?) on title, washed, a few small corner repairs, final leaf with very neatly mended tear. Ed. 1790 in roughly contemporary half leather, lightly worn, new label and edition statement in gilt on spine, marbled sides renewed, initials C. J. L. or C. F. L. on front flyleaf, neat old annotations in text.

From the Collection of Fil. Dr Gunnar Göthberg. He was early on interested in the historical development of medicine. He was one of the founder of the 'Farmacihistoriska Sällskapet' in 1972. Gunnar himself translated from Latin to Swedsih the first edition of the Swedish Farmakope, dating from 1775, he was then himself 85 years old. In 1999 he was awarded the titel of honorary doctor of the Hummaniora faculty in Gothenburg and he was also an honorary member of the the Society of Pharmacists and the Society of Pharmaceutical History.
