Sara-Vide Ericson, ”Hilla V”
Signed S.V.E and dated 09 verso. Oil on canvas 152 x 134 cm.
Sarah-Vide Ericsson, born in 1983, studied at the Royal Institute of Art from 2004 to 2009. She now lives and works in Hälsingland. Her paintings represent her memories, heritage, rituals, and artefacts. Memories of places, moments and inherited experiences are, through the artist’s work process and the characteristics of the material, transformed into a concentrated new reality. While she often depicts herself in her art, she does not view them as self portraits, rather as if she plays different roles and lends her body to the paintings.
She has held solo exhibitions at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm, Kalmar Art Museum, and the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm, as well as at galleries such as V1 Gallery in Copenhagen and Galleri Magnus Karlsson in Stockholm. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as 'Our Sky Red' at Gothenburg Art Hall (2020) and 'The Trees Stand Bright Green: Landscape Painting Then and Now' at Bonniers Konsthall (2019).
Her art is represented in collections at Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Pizzuti Collection, Ohio, USA; Uppsala Art Museum; Swedish Arts Council, among others.
