Stockholm in my heart

Our capital's vistas and views have always enchanted great Swedish artists, who constantly return to this beloved motif. People's lives, sunrises, summer nights, trams, the city in winter garb, the city as a symbol of national romance or the rise of modernism. Stockholm past and present, Skansen and the ores, romantic pictures and depictions of the modern city, and Stockholm's unique location, surrounded by water. The rich flora of paintings offers an experience of the artists' time as well as a nostalgic journey.

Among the famous Stockholm painters are, of course, Isaac Grünewald, Sigrid Hjertén, Einar Jolin, Axel Nilsson, Maj Bring, Oskar Bergman, Natan Johansson, GAN, Hilding Linnqvist and Sven X: et Erixon, but also great artists such as Victor Axelsson, Harald Lindberg, Nils Tydén, Bernhard Oscarsson, Louis Sparre, Harald Lindberg, Gunnar Zetterström, Axel Kargel and the blue painters Eugen Jansson and Bertel Bertel-Nordström. Many of them established themselves as beloved Stockholm painters in the early 1900s and many of them are richly represented in Sweden’s museums. Many of these artists’ work is now also possible to acquire.

The theme auction “Stockholm in my heart” contains a number of paintings by artists who paved the way for modern art in Sweden, but also maps and copper engravings from the 18th and 19th centuries. An unexpected curiosity collection from the "Stockholm Exhibition", dated 1930, is also among the auction's rich selection of Stockholm art.
