Bukowskis Modern Art + Design presents most works by internationally renowned artists such as Maurice Utrillo, Pablo Picasso, Bernard Buffet, Arman, Victor Vasarely, as well as pioneering Swedish works by Isaac Grünewald, Olle Baertling, Gösta Adrian-Nilsson, Sigrid Hjertén. In this autumn's auction, we are pleased to present several significant collections, not least Lars Wetterling's Collection, the first part of which was sold successfully during Contemporary Art & Design. His love and passion for art are still strong. In a recent conversation with Lars, he talked about how he is now interested in black-and-white prints and three-dimensional sculptures and how those expressions differ from that of paintings. His curiosity and ability to find works that express and trigger emotions run like a common thread through his extensive collection of art, crafts and design.
Bukowskis is also pleased to present another masterpiece by Josef Frank this season. The cabinet "Apskåpet", is most likely a special order unique in its kind, and the only cabinet made in this specific print and the surrounding partitions. Last spring, a cabinet in a similar design but with a different motif was sold for a record price of 3.6 MSEK, also the most expensive piece of 20th-century Swedish furniture ever sold at auction. Another unique addition to this autumn's rich design department is a private collection of Svenskt Tenn objects presented in the "Hildur Hansson Collection" from a good friend of Estrid Ericson.
Bukowskis' design department offers several internationally sought-after items from our most beloved 20th-century designers. Bid on exclusive and unique items by Axel Einar Hjorth, Uno Åhrén & Anna Petrus, Hans Hedberg, Stig Lindberg, Firma Georg Jensen, and not to forget, an extensive, curated collection of light luminaires from Arvid Böhlmark's lamp factory.
At this autumn's Modern Art + Design, we can also present the famous ”Cavelli" armchair by Bengt Ruda for IKEA, which in a previous auction at Bukowskis, achieved a new world record for any IKEA furniture ever sold.
