Introduction – Words By Malene Birger
What do we need from fashion? It’s an interesting question at the moment. In this time of monumental change, it’s more important now than ever before to understand why we surround ourselves with the things we do. This season at By Malene Birger, we’ve been thinking about these things with which we surround ourselves – the clothes, objects, furniture, and art we build our universe around – with a newfound intensity. This heightened focus allowed us to reenvision how we approach our collections. In the spirit of our gentle revolution, we kindly pushed the rulebook aside and looked at what we can do to disrupt our system. We know that we cannot continue as we have.
In the magazine By Malene Birger also present a photo series showcasing their favourite things – a selection of objects that have caught their eye of late, their current obsessions. Furniture, objects and art curated and collected in collaboration with Bukowskis. They also catch up with the brilliantly talented young artist, Inez Jönsson, at her studio in Stockholm on page 88. See her work featured below and more over at Gallery Belenius website.
