Åsa Norberg and Jennie Sundén live and work in Gothenburg. They have both graduated from the Academy of Art in Umeå. Aside from working individually they also appear as a duo since 2005. Their works are often situation- or site specific and focus on architecture and language as two phenomena that constantly need to be illuminated and reconsidered. In their installations and projects they focus on the inner history and function of form and material. Through transformations and fusions of different materials and social phenomena and through illumination of other artists’ practices, they want to create new narratives. Together they have executed projects for Bildmuseet in Umeå, Marabouparken and Bonniers Konsthall and the Swedish embassy in Berlin. 2011 they exhibited the installation The Balcony Scene at Konstepidemin in Gothenburg and coming spring 2012 they will have an exhibition at Galleri 54 in Gothenburg. They are also members of the editorial board of the art magazine Paletten. They also lead the independent project space Hit in Gothenburg. Hit has established as an important site on the Gothenburg contemporary art scene and several important international artists have been introduced here.
