Mika Tajima lives and works in California, USA. At Bukowskis she is showing a few exquisitely ethereal paintings made with spray paint on the reverse side of acrylic glass. These works are a reminder of the fact that abstract painting was once a highly controversial style; over the years, and in pace with other changes, abstract art has become part of our everyday lives, in the form of modules and as a result of crass economics and mass production, rather than for its aesthetic simplicity. Mika Tajima reinvests her objects with some of the mystery and beauty of which it has been robbed.
