I remember the pleasure he took in composing an opening image for the TV
series. He took the first, handwritten page of the script for "Winter
Light". On it, he placed a statuette that he keeps on his desk as a paper
weight: a small Asian goddess with a huge behind. Partly, he did it to be
shocking. Mostly, he did it to paint a picture of who he was.
