Alfred Boman,
Acrylic, glue emulsion, enamel varnish and spray paint on canvas, wooden artist frame 142 x 112 cm
Alfred Boman is a Swedish artist born in 1981 in Luleå. He lives and works in Stockholm. He earned his MA degree in Tobias Rehberger's class at HfBK Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and studied art history and art at the University of Gothenburg. He works as an artist and sculptor, and his colour schemes and sharp contrasts are reminiscent of both African modernists and 1980s expressionism, resulting in works that are neither expressionistic nor formalistic. Rather, it is about a material-exploring painting of the most contemporary cut.
He has exhibited internationally at galleries such as Mahkjip Gallery in Seoul, South Korea; Cooper Cole in Toronto, Canada; Prism in Los Angeles, USA; Fluxia in Milan, Italy; Union Pacific in London, United Kingdom; Carl Kostyál in London, United Kingdom; Ibid Projects/Gallery Exit in Hong Kong, China; and Gether Contemporary in Copenhagen, Denmark. In Sweden, he has exhibited at Johan Berggren Gallery in Malmö; ISSUES, Loyal Gallery; and Galerie Nordenhake in Stockholm.
