Co Hultén Final selection 1937–1959 Part II, is the last in a series of three auctions of art from this period in Hultén's estate. Many of the works have never been exhibited publicly, presenting a unique opportunity to acquire a piece by one of the most influential post-war artists in Sweden and to own a part of Hultén's creative heritage. The works will not be offered again at a second or third auction if the reserve prices are not met at this first auction, which ends on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

As one of the central figures in the avant-garde group Imaginisterna, which was formed in 1945, CO Hultén holds a significant place in Swedish art history. In 1948 Hultén even joined the CoBrA group alongside other significant artists such as Asger Jorn. Additionally, CO Hultén was also an initiator to two significant projects: Image Publishing, which he started as early as 1947, and the journal Salamander, which was published in three issues during 1955–56, featuring texts, poems, and visual material by, among others, Tomas Tranströmer, Marcel Duchamp, Roberto Matta, and André Breton, as well as lithographic originals that highlight the initiators' unique international network. In parallel with Salamander, in January 1955, Hultén opened Galerie Colibri in Malmö – the city’s first artist driven exhibition space.
