Henrik Godsk learned to paint signs and facades at the young age of seven, engaging in artistic endeavors on the facades of traveling amusement parks. The aesthetics of the amusement park are evident in Godsk's works, and at times, he directly references the geometric patterns and color schemes found on the facades of amusement parks.
In his artistic practice, Godsk draws inspiration from art history, influenced by modernist and cubist artists like Picasso and Modigliani, as well as the baroque and renaissance periods, incorporating elements from medieval church paintings and portraits. The auction piece "Lover" was featured in Henrik Godsk's solo exhibition "No Piano" at CFHILL, Stockholm (2022). "Lover," created by Godsk during the pandemic, is inspired by feelings of the inexplicable and eerie, as well as musical concepts such as rhythm and melody.
Henrik Godsk resides and works in Northern Jylland, Denmark. He holds a master's degree in art and literature from Aalborg University and is a member of the Danska Bildkonstnärers förening. His works are represented in several prominent public and private collections. Selected solo exhibitions include: "Humans & Creatures" at Vigo Gallery, Wellington Arch, London (2023), "Archetypes" at Ruttkowski;68, Paris (2023), "No Piano" at CFHILL, Stockholm (2022), "Fade to Red" at PIERMARQ*, Sydney (2022), and "Traveller" at Ruttkowski;68, Cologne (2021).
