In this theme auction, we intend to highlight the painter as a traveler during the 19th and early 20th century. Through innovations such as rail roads, travelling became more accessible in Europe. Suddenly, the world seemed much closer at hand, and the artists at the second half of the 19th century quickly utilised it. They crossed the borders of their homelands and searched for new pictorial landscapes abroad. Today we have the privilege of enjoying their travels through their art.
