Sten Eklund

In Sten Eklund's art, humans are absent. Instead, Eklund's compositions contain fragments of buildings, machines and objects. The geometrically constructed works become traces of human production, where a structured order prevails in the absence of human chaos.

Sten Eklund's art is idea-based and analytical, based on philosophical, moral and universal human issues. From the beginning of Eklund's career, critics praised his art and considered him ahead of his time.

At first sight, the stained glass windows from the late 1960s and early 1970s resemble architectural or engineering constructions, but Eklund's art also raises questions about evolution and human determination.
