Gallery 1 Gothenburg – 40 years of Art

Gallery 1 in Gothenburg was, for many years or more precisely for 40 years, a watering hole for art lovers in the Gothenburg area. The gallery was established in 1978 by Birgitta and Björn Paijkull. These charismatic personalities ran the gallery during all these years until its demise. During the gallery's 40 years, a number of the leading artists in Sweden and the Nordic countries were exhibited. To mention a few; Karin Mamma Andersson, Ernst Billgren, Jockum Nordström, Lena Cronqvist and Olli Lyytikäinen. This theme auction is a tribute to Björn Paijkull, who died in 2021.
