A pair of oval shaped 'Sumida Gawa/Sumida ware' pottery bowls, Meiji period, around the year 1900.
Oval shaped bowls with a red ground. Glazed in tints of blue, green and brown. Each bowl flanked with a modelled man hanging over the edge. Length 9 cm. Height 4.5 cm.
Wear. One bowl with a protruding crack. One bowl with a small crack.
