Two volumes. Contemporary full calf, worn. Flat spines gilt, marbled endpapers. Bookplate of K. A. de Belfrage. Two large maps with short tear in gutter and slight creasing of edges due to folding. Some occasional small stains, first title a little finger-soiled, first volume with small, faint dampstain to upper outer corner throughout.
First edition of Paul-Henri Mallet’s (1730-1807) extended French translation of William Coxe’s (1747-1828) travel account from northern Europe, originally published in English in 1784. Mallet added a description of Norway. An edition in 8vo, 4 vols., was published simultaneously by the same publisher.
