First edition. Louis Racine (1692-1763) was the son of dramatist Jean Racine. This collection of his works contains his own poems, but above all his translation of Milton’s ”Paradise Lost” in two volumes, and his works about his father, ”Mémoires sur la vie de Jean Racine” and ”Remarques sur les tragédies de Jean Racine, suivies d'un traité sur la poésie dramatique ancienne et moderne”. The first volumes also contain a few letters from Rousseau.
