Casa D'Italia

Many good stories have a beginning and an end, but some just live on and adapt with their time. Casa D’Italia, a shop where every person who came in through the door could dream away

for a little while to the delightfully and beautiful Italy. The store offered the best of an exclusive selection of Italian handicrafts. Glass from Murano and fabrics from Rubelli and Bevilacqua
from the enigmatic Venice or why not porcelain, ceramics or furniture as well as small wooden objects with polished surfaces of gold leaf from the manufacturers Egenio Pattarino, Zaccagnini and Paoletti in the mysterious alleys of Florence. The store Casa D’Italia was founded by Anna-Stina Sahle in the 1920s and was then run by her daughter Gunilla Bjellhagen at the classic address, Mäster Samuelsgatan 7 in Stockholm, until 1997 when the store was put to rest and moved with Gunilla to Skåne. The objects have since decorated her home in Skåne until now when she thought they would gild someone else's home. The store Casa D’Italia was legendary and many are the different customers who visited the store over the years. Through the door passed royalty, citizens of Stockholm, actors and historical figures who for a moment longed for Italy. Now these Italian dreams are looking for new owners, take the opportunity to enjoy handmade glass, furniture, wooden objects, mirrors, lamps, top quality fabrics from Italian manufacturers who have been craftsmen for several generations. The story of Casa D’Italia does not end here but lives on and changes with its time where the objects through this auction get new "lives" and can keep the dream of Italy alive.
