Art Nouveau silver – a private collection
We are pleased to present a collection of decorative and beautiful Art Nouveau silver objects. The style Art Nouveau is characterized by many different types of style expressions, and its very common that the ornaments are pictured as organic serpentined plant forms, flowers or fruits – which also can be seen in the items in this collection that includes objects mainly from Sweden and Denmark. ”The human desire to collect begins at birth and affects our lifestyle in varying ways. My wife and I are fortunate to share a deep interest in works of art from the Art Nouveau period. An intense life of work and travel has resulted in an extensive collection of silver objects from the time from around 1890 to the 1920s. To wake up at 4 am a Friday morning in order to visit the antique market – at say Bermondsey Street in London – has been a great pleasure. The time has now come to let go of this collection to be able to focus on other areas”, says the collector behind the silver collection. In this extensive private collection you will find everything from beautiful boxes, vases and urns to salt and pepper shakers , pitchers and bowls – everything for setting a stunning table to decorative details to your home!
