In 2017, Denise Grünstein described this motif as follows: "I made a smaller series of images with black-and-white large format Polaroid in the summer of 2015 after I had completed and exhibited the images of women dressed in crinolines in the empty rooms at the Nationalmuseum. Inspired by the large skirts and the masked faces that I had worked with in the rooms, I wanted to continue outdoors, in nature, which has always been an important part of my image-making. The series is now displayed in its entirety as a permanent installation in one of the newly built houses 'Dalenum' on Lidingö, where the images were also taken."
