Systembolagets´ Wine and spirits auctions – May
With spring in anticipation, we present our third beverage auction for the year. This time a little fewer lots in number but with many interesting objects. On the wine side, the three main areas Champagne, Bordeaux and Italy deliver approximately the same number of items and with a nice range in taste spectrum.
For example, we see wines like vintage 1945 that still live in Château Haut Brion and 1950s wines such as 1953 Château La Mission Haut Brion. And on the other side, several wines from the year of 2015 that need some time in the cellar.
In Champagne, the emphasis is more and more on vintages from the end of the 2000s where 2006, 2008 and 2009 offer nice, more maturing experiences. For those who like slightly more generous wines, we find outward-looking wines from, among others, Washington State, California and Australia. A mighty 2005 Harlan Estate impresses with its magnum size as well as a 15 litre 2005 Mas la Plana.
From Hanyus Ichiro's card series, the Queen of Hearts appear, four of clubs and three of diamonds, minimal editions produced in a few hundred copies. Even more rare for our auction are some bottles with Geuze from 3 Fonteinen and De Cam in Belgium, exciting spontaneously fermented beer.

Beverage auctions and Covid-19
The beverage auctions will continue as planned with the spring season's three auctions, while we carefully follow the advice and information from the health authorities. The corona virus affects us all to varying degrees, directly or indirectly, yet our safety comes first and foremost.
When it comes to submissions and retrieval, anyone who does not show flu symptoms is welcome as usual. Feel free to contact us for larger deliveries, so we can prepare a smooth handling.
If you may face issues with retrieving your purchase, we will do our best to find the best solutions for each case.
