Muut tiedot

Lorentz Görges was born as the son of the ensign at the Östgöta Infantry Regiment, Johan Görges, and his wife Clara Corylander. Görges later moved to Stockholm, where he became a merchant and a councillor of commerce. He married Hedvig Elisabet Bohman in 1754 at Maria Magdalena Church. The couple had one daughter and two sons.

For several years, Görges was a part-owner of the successful trading house Bohman, Hassel & Görges, and he was counted among the so-called Shipbrokers' nobility. His wife was the daughter of Carl Bohman, who was one of the original owners of the trading house Bohman & Hultman. Lorentz Görges built the Görgeska house during the 1760s, which is located in Djurgårdsstaden.
