Countess Maud von Rosen (1902-1988) was a sculptor, partly trained as a private student under Carl Milles. She is most famous for her horse and rider sculptures, which also testify to the von Rosen family's renowned interest in horses and equestrian sports. In the early 1930s, Maud von Rosen rode alone through Persia, a journey she depicted in her book "Persian Pilgrimage".
