Alkuperä - Provenienssi

For which 25th anniversary the clock was ordered is for future research to determine. The use of cyrillic on the dial points to a commission for the Russian market. The rich use of roses and other flowers indicates that the clock was probably intended as a silver wedding gift.

Muut tiedot

Bolin was founded as early as 1791, and in conjunction with the appointment in 1912 as an Imperial Russian court jeweller (having already been an Imperial court supplier like Fabergé), the name was changed to W.A. Bolin and began hallmarking accordingly. In connection with World War I and the Russian Revolution, the family moved back to Stockholm in 1916-17, thus the manufacture of the watch can be pinpointed to between 1912 and 1917.
