Signed CL and dated 1885. Watercolor on paper, 55 x 35.5 cm. The watercolor was created for an article about the Solfjäder by Ludvig Looström. The article was part of the book "Med pensel och penna" published in 1885 by Captain Warner Silfversparre (1850-1930). The model is Warner Silfversparre's wife.

Carl Larsson painted Solfjädrar for an article about Solfjädern by Ludvig Looström. The article was included in a book published by Captain Warner Silfversparre in 1885 titled "Med pensel och penna. En årsbok om svensk konst" (With Brush and Pencil. A Yearbook on Swedish Art). As well as Larsson, other artists contributed illustrations including Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors and Jenny Nyström. The elegant lady depicted is Anna Vilhelmina Silfversparre née Stahre. She married Silfversparre on 8 October 1884.
