A yellow-ground green-enamelled 'dragon' and phoenix bowl, underglaze blue Daoguang seal mark and of the period.

The deep rounded sides supported on a straight foot. The exterior decorated with two incised five clawed dragons and two phoenix's in pursuit of a flaming pearl, alternating with cloud motifs above a band of lappets. The interior with a central roundel with an archaistic shou character. Diameter 11.5 cm.

Hairline cracks.

Alkuperä - Provenienssi

The collection of General Director Vilhelm Meyers. A prominent Danish businessman who lived and worked in China during the years 1902-1935. He ran and owned the Andersen & Meyer Ltd, a company which at the time had about 25 000 employees.
