Muut tiedot

While the OMEGA Speedmaster's "Professional" line unquestionably stands as the most renowned series of chronographs both historically and in contemporary times, it's worth noting that not all Speedmasters are, despite popular belief, Moonwatches. OMEGA, as a brand, has a rich history of producing a diverse array of chronograph models, ranging from heritage designs to moon phase variations, digital editions, and even jewel-adorned styles.

One intriguing departure from the tried-and-true Professional line was the Speedmaster Date, a series that gained notable popularity around the turn of the century and continued to captivate enthusiasts for about a decade afterward, exemplified by models like the one before us.

On the wrist, the case retains the familiar Speedmaster aesthetics, featuring a comfortable 39 mm size, which wears nimbly and retains the collection's classic elements, such as the distinctive twisted lugs, an outer tachymetric bezel, and robust pump pushers flanking a deeply serrated crown. The dial is where this design truly distinguishes itself with its special black and red color scheme, a vertical chronograph layout, and the eponymous date window at the three o'clock position.

It's important to note that the Speedmaster Date was introduced before OMEGA widely adopted Co-Axial movements, and therefore, it's driven by the dependable OMEGA caliber 1152, a mechanism rooted in the ETA 7750.
