A German cut and engraved goblet, 18th Century.

Cone shaped cup, baluster leg with air, large foot with folded edge. Cut and engraved decoration with four different motifs, each with a numbered text that reads; "wan schene jungfrauen nicht gichlern und lachen" (when beautiful women not giggles and laughs), "Und schwere farfauern nicht donnern und crachen"(when heavy cannons dont thunder and breaks), "und machtige hengeste nicht fumeln und springen", (when powerful stallions dont jump and prance), "so reitzhe sie feinem zu lustige dingen". (we only think of fun things). Height 25 cm.
