This adorable depiction of the artist's daughter Ana in her sickbed is a preparatory oil sketch for the larger composition "Mor och barn" (Mother and child, oil on canvas, 74 x 94 cm, sold at Sotheby's, London, 27 March 1990, private collection) from 1912.
