Well-potted baluster form, decorated with peacocks amidst flowering peony plants and rockwork, all set between rows of lappets. The base with a Wanli six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle. Height 12,5 cm.

Rim cut down, firingspots. Minor chips.

A similar jar with a Jiajing six characters mark to the base was previously sold at Sotheby's auctionhouse in New York, 13-14th September 2016, lot 274.
