“Solsångaren” belongs, alongside, "Solglitter" and "Europa and the Bull", to the artist's most famous and popular works. It is typical of 1920s-styleideals, which were classicism. In the classic manner “Solsångaren” has taken contrapposto position so the body’s weight rests on one leg, while the other is put forward. By reducing the statue to a torso, ie cut the head and arms, the figure's movement becomes clearer and the shape is more prominent. The torso was erected in its original size in the 1920's for, among other places, the garden to the Milles museum in Stockholm; Millesgården.
