Dark blue ground with a large polychrome medallion, corner ornaments, flower and palmette festoons. Two narrow borders with a flower vine.
Partly worn, slightly dirty, minor stains. Damaged sides, the ends are slightly reduced.
This rug was bought in Persia by a Swedish officer who among around forty Swedish officers was engaged by the Shah to organize a gendarmerie to protect the connections and roads between the cities in the country. Between 1912-1915.
