Reddish brown melange ground with a dense polychrome boteh pattern as well as a small stylized animal in one corner. A dark blue main border with a flower festoon.
Slightly dirty, stains among which a few are slightly stiff. The sides and ends have insignificant fold wear.
This rug was bought in Persia by a Swedish officer who among around forty Swedish officers was engaged by the Shah to organize a gendarmerie to protect the connections and roads between the cities in the country. Between 1912-1915.
