Ivory ground with a large polychrome medallion, large peacocks, stylized palmette and flower festoons. A wide dark blue main border with birds and blooming trees.
Little wear, slightly dirty, minor stains and mothdamages. The sides have minor fold wear.
This rug was bought in Persia by a Swedish officer who among around forty Swedish officers was engaged by the Shah to organize a gendarmerie to protect the connections and roads between the cities in the country. Between 1912-1915.
