Lieven van Coppenol (1598/99-1671), Dutch calligrapher and friend of Rembrandt. An additional note is printed on the left side of the text: "C. de Visscher ad vivum delineavit Tribus diebus ante morte ultimam manum imposuit. Ao 1658." Apparently, Visscher died three days after finishing Coppenol's portrait, but before he could sign it.
