The auction demonstrated continued strong interest in Finnish design icons. Tapio Wirkkala was represented with several highlights, among them a sought-after plywood tray that sold for several times its estimate at a record price of EUR 36 300. Additionally, the unique glass bowl “Drop Leaf” achieved a final price of EUR 14 800, and a gold "Kuunsirppi" (Crescent Moon) necklace was also featured.
Paavo Tynell, Ilmari Tapiovaara, and Alvar Aalto were other prominent and internationally sought-after designers, reflecting the continued strong interest in Finnish design. Rut Bryk's reliefs were among the major highlights of the ceramics department, and from Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto, we saw several coveted pieces, including furniture, lamps, and design objects that sold well above estimate. The auction also featured a "Dragonfly" table lamp by Tiffany Studios, which reached the high final price of 35 700 EUR, as well as glass objects by international designers Alessandro Pianon and Fulvio Bianconi.
