Three light lead framed shade with the decoration of dragonflies. The inner edge of the shade is stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 462.
Lamp base “Pony” in gilded bronze with tree trunk decoration. Stamped at the bottom of the footplate TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 554. Total height c. 45 cm. Diameter c. 42 cm.

Wear and tear due to age and use. The lampshade has several minor cracks in the small glasses. The lampshade is positioned slightly askew on the shaft. Shade with traces due to manufacturing process.

Provenance

Purchased on May 15, 1989 from Lillian Nassau at 220 E 57th St, New York. The purchase receipt is included.

More information

The 'Dragonfly' lampshade was created by Clara Driscoll for Tiffany Studios, and the design won a bronze medal at the 1900 Paris International Exposition. Clara Driscoll worked at Tiffany Studios for seventeen years, during which time she designed more than thirty table lamps for the company.
