Pamir was a four-masted barque, launched in Hamburg in 1905 by the shipping company F. Laeisz for the Chilean nitrate line. In 1949 she became the last large commercial cargo ship to sail around Cape Horn, and sank in a cyclone off the Azores in 1957.
