Artist

Robert Moskowitz is a contemporary painter from Brooklyn, New York. He was influenced by, among other movements, Abstract Expressionism, and gained recognition starting in the 1960s for his paintings, drawings and prints that explore the intersection of Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism and Pop Art. Such eminent artists as Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg influenced Moskowitz in his early career. Although his work has found less public acclaim than that of his major contemporaries, Moskowitz’s work has been described as a "significant link between the Abstract Expressionism of the New York School and the 'New Image Abstraction' painters of the mid-1970s".
