As opposed to the ‘conventional’ proportioning of a chair, where the seat is widest at the front and tapers toward the top of the backrest, our design subtly does the opposite. The monocoque seat shell tapers carefully from the top of the backrest towards the front edge of the seat. We have also included details that soften the overall outline of the seat, such as the curved front edge and the gently undulating line along the top of the back, giving it a more organic silhouette.
Rather than including armrests as a simple, sheathed tube, the armrest is formed as an abstract ‘leaf’ shape, positioned on the end of the extended back leg tube construction.
