The Master Etcher Zorn F556

Few other artists can demonstrate the same skillfulness within several different techniques as Anders Zorn. The eminent artist mastered aquarelle with eas, brush on canvas and etching like few others. At the time of his death, Zorn had created over 280 etchings, some inspired by his earlier work, while others were crafted directly on the canvas, where he shaped the motif with swift, bold strokes. Historically, Bukowskis has auctioned many of Zorn’s etchings, as we have had the exclusive right to sell them – and once again, we are pleased to present a wide selection of his captivating works. The motives strains from his entire repertoire: from portraits of friends to genre scenes and naked studies, all etched between 1883 and 1919.

Consignment is now open for our upcoming live auction, Important Winter Sale, on 11–13 December.
