CARL-JOHAN BOLANDER - GALERIE BELLE, VÄSTERÅS
Carl-Johan Bolander, who passed away last year, ran Galerie Belle in Västerås between 1967 and 1987, during which time it quickly became established as one of Sweden’s leading galleries for contemporary Swedish art. He sought out the new and identified young artists who are now considered pioneers. Several of those who Bolander was the first to showcase, such as Lena Cronqvist and Jan Håfström, are still among the most renowned of artists. Carl-Johan Bolander bequeathed a part of his large art collection to Norrköpings Konstmuseum (Norrköping Art Museum) in his will. These works feature in an exhibition that runs until 3 September. Items from the collection are being sold in this theme auction.
