A Japanese 'seto' stoneware bamboo dish, Edo (1602-1868).

Round. The interior decorated with three bamboo leaves in underglaze blue, a crackled light glaze covers the dish, the base and foot remain unglazed. Six spur marks to the interior of the dish. Diameter 27 cm.
Wooden box included to the lot.

Wear. Some chips to the glaze.

Provenance

Ivan Troedsson's (1891-1963) collection. Ivan Troedsson lived in Tokyo and Shanghai during the first half of the 20th century and was reportedly consul in Japan in 1941.
