A silver lined qing bai bowl, Song dynasty (960-1279).

Rounded sides on a short glazed foorim, silver lining on the unglazed rim. Carved decoration to the exterior, covered in a bluish white glaze. Diameter 17.5 cm. Height 6.6 cm. Wooden box accompanies the piece.

Hairlines/crazings to the glaze, wear.

Provenance

From a Swedish Collector, Sture Larsson was a notable member of the Swedish Oriental Ceramics Society who formed his collection from the early 1950's an onwards. Thence by descent.

Previously in the Collection of Tage Grönwall (1903-1988). Grönwall was a Swedish diplomat who had a long career serving for the Swedish Foreign Ministry. He was stationed in Tokyo 1956-19 and also accredited for for Seoul 1959-1962.
